Nominator's statement

Why not a novel? I nominate Dick's work since it is a sustained reflection on the fuzzy distinctions between the cognitive processes of humans, machines and animals. It also helps in clarifying the ethical implications of these distinctions. As such, it is a great piece of cognitive science.
