The Construction of Reality in the Child
Piaget, J. (1954)
NY: Ballantine Books
- Nominator's statement
- It revolutionized developmental, learning, cognitive, and social psychology. It also provided the first approach that could be truly called a "systems approach" to development. It was also the best, and perhaps will end up being the last, grand theory of development. Piaget tackled everything (not all in this book) from perception to moral development.
comments
- I haven't read much Piaget, but I know enough to know that at least one of his works should be represented in such a list!
- I agree that Piaget should be included on the list. I might have chosen Origins of Intelligence instead of The Construction of Reality.
