The thought
Frege, Gottlob (1918)
Collected Papers, Blackwell, 1918

Nominator's statement

Many of the key philosophical distinctions that illuminate cognitive science first appear here: description of psychological processing, versus logical norms; the nature of sense versus reference; self-thoughts and consciousness; indexicality. Besides, surely something by Frege should be in the list, and the other stuff is from the 19th Century!!
